Francavilla al Mare

A few km south of Pescara, Francavilla al Mare is a fine seaside resorts, joining the tranquillity of a family resort with a long stretch of wide sandy beaches with all the entertainments a a big city in the immediate vicinity. The hinterland is all green hills covered with vineyards, rising within 40 km to the second-highest mountain group of the Italian peninsula, the Majella mountain.

It can easily be reached by motorway A14 Bologna - Bari- Taranto, or A24-A25 from Rome, exit Pescara Sud-Francavilla, and there are frequent bus and train connections to Pescara.

The nearest airports are the Aeroporto d'Abruzzo, in the vicinity of Pescara (10 km), the airport of Ancona (180 km to the north) and the airports of Rome (240 km to the west).

Francavilla enjoys a very central position along the Adriatic coast, being within reach of Chieti and Pescara in 15 minutes, and Teramo and L'Aquila in an hour. In the hinterland there are art centers and mountain resorts, and along the A14, or A25 it is possible to reach almost all major destinations of central Italy with some hours' drive.
